It Was One Hell Of A Run For Ananya In The Circumstances

NAP – Ananya 3:45 Newmarket (14/1 advised) 7/1

5th

Undoubtedly Ananya was unlucky when finishing 5th in the Sweet Solera Stakes. She was well backed and started half the price of the odds advised on Thursday so there was some market confidence around for her. Unfortunately Ananya missed the break by approximately 10 lengths according to racing post comments, for her to beat just over 3 lengths in the end. There is no doubt she should of finished closer if breaking on terms, and there is evidence to suggest she might as well have won. In the circumstances she has produced one hell of a run for an inexperienced filly and stepping up to a mile looks sure to suit going forward.

Another thing to take out of the race is that its a first stakes winner for rookie sire Golden Horn. His daughter West End Girl won the race for the Mark Johnston team and coincidently is a form boost for one of our fillies Lola Paige, whom she beat at Haydock on her debut.

NB (Next Best) – Melting Dew 2:15 Ascot (8/1 Advised) 7/1

9th

Melting Dew produced a dismal performance at the Shergar Cup meeting at Ascot, Ridden by Silver Saddle winner Hayley Turner, he was put in a good position throughout but when push came to shove he had no answers and dropped away tamely. Its hard to make excuses for this horse on this occasion and he looks a bit gone at the game at this moment in time.
