Smooth Success For Lunar Shadow At Uttoxeter 13/07/22

Lunar Shadow (Sea The Moon x The Pirates Queen) made it 2 wind from 3 starts over hurdles with a smooth success in the Total Waste Management Mares' Novices' Hurdle over 2miles at Uttoxeter this afternoon, She  settled well behind the leaders and jumped nicely showing no ill effect from her fall at Stratford on her previous start before coming away to win by 6 1/2 length from Betty's Banjo. AppleTree's filly may find life a little more difficult now under a double penalty, although we do have the option of a spin back on the flat. Hurdles can often sharpen a horse up and she looks an attractive proposition back on the level off her mark of 60. We will fiddle away through the rest of the summer before Lunar is retired to paddocks.

Tattersalls July Sales Results 08/07/22

AppleTree offered 2 lots on Wednesday this week at the Tattersalls July sale. Lot 45 Blaast (Showcasing x Absolute Blast) 3yo filly was first up making 18,000gns which was a fair result. She is a first foal out of our mare Absolute Blast, having won 1 race over six furlongs. We would like to wish MCR Bloodstock the best of luck with her, Blaast is sure to make a nice broodmare and we look forward to seeing her progeny win in the future. Next up was lot 319 Invincibly arriving at the sales off the back of a great win at Carlisle he realized 78,000gns which was a fantastic result. He is sure to train on and AppleTree stud would also like to wish Colm Sharky the best of luck with him. I gather he is off to the Middle East which will suit this versatile horse, new connections are sure to have a lot of fun with him.

She showed the benefit from her Chepstow return from a break last month to become the second successive horse on the day to make all. She had a bit up her sleeve at the line." Royal Charter Makes A Winning Debut 24/06/22

Royal Charter (Expert Eye x Queens Charter) made the perfect start at Newmarket this evening by winning the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes by a head from Love Affairs who ironically is owned by Her Majesty The Queen. Our filly was a first 2yo winner of the season for AppleTree and for William Haggas. Royal Charter was given a lovely introduction by Steve Donohoe, being a little slow away she then ran keen before being green mid race. Approaching the final 1 1/2 furlongs the penny drop she ran out possible value for more than the head she won by. Steve was very sympathetic under a strong hands and heals drive before waving the stick at her from a 1/2 a furlong out to get the job done. The filly was not touch and we hope there is lots more to come from her. Royal Charter came out of the race very well and we will be guide by William as to where we go next.

INVINCIBLY RINGS THE BELL AT CARLISLE 22/06/22

Invincibly won a nice prize at Carlisle when winning the Stablemate By Agma Carlisle Bell Handicap over a 1m. He was close to the pace all the way taking a lead from the eventual 2nd Tommy G who made most of the running. This was a career high for Invincibly and a great boost, Invincibly will be offered at the Tattersalls July sale and is lot 319. He is a fine looking horse who will suit many markets, I strongly advise viewing him at park paddocks from the 4th of July in the further paddock box 430
