Promising Run From Tomorrow’s Dream Last night at Newcastle 10/12/19
Tomorrow's Dream (Oasis Dream x Midnight Thoughts) ran a very promising race last night at Newcastle racecourse in the Ladbrokes Where The Nation Plays Maiden Stakes (Class 5) (2yo) 6f Standard, she was slightly slowly away and ran a little green before finding room near the stands rail. She was asked for an effort before 1f out and stayed on the same pace to finish 5th beaten 2 1/2 length by the Karl Burke trained Splendidly. I couldn't help being a little disappointed after seeing her work where she looked great and work with zest, but that being said William Haggas's 2yo's always improve for a run and she clearly has plenty of ability. The plan now is to get Tomorrow's Dream a win at 2 before mapping out a 3yo career. In the cold light of day we are very happy with her and the fact that Midnight Thoughts her dam is producing good athletes is also a major positive. From 3 foals of racing age Midnight Thoughts has produced 2 winners, Three Weeks rated 93 and Funny man rated 86, Tomorrow's Dream will make 3 from 3 at some stage and fingers crossed be a black type performer. She has a Shalaa filly yearling and is in-foal to the mighty Kingman which is very exciting and the future looks bright.
Greatly Anticipated Tomorrow’s Dream Runs At Newcastle 3.45pm Monday 08/17/19
It is with great anticipation Tomorrow's Dream (Oasis Dream x Midnight Thoughts) runs on Monday at Newcastle in the Ladbrokes Where The Nation Plays Maiden Stakes (Class 5) (2yo) over 6 furlongs. She is the third foal of our mare Midnight Thoughts who is 2 winners from 2 runners and Tomorrow's Dream has been suggesting that she carries ability just like her 2 half brothers Three Weeks rated 90 and Funny Man rated 83. Tomorrow's Dream has shown a little more speed than her brothers hence why William Haggas is starting over 6f, it is a reasonably stiff 6 though and she is sure to get further as 3yo. Her work has been good and we expect a big run although whatever she does she will improve off the back of this debut.
Far Rockaway (Frankel x Darinza) Just Touched Off At Chelmsford 3.25 25/11/19
Far Rockaway (Frankel x Darinza) couldn't quite get her head in front at Chelmsford in the 3.25pm Extra Places At totesport.com Novice Stakes, she broke well and Tom Marquand got a perfect position on the inside rail just behind the pace sitting 4th or 5th. Having settled and travelled well for the majority of the race she came off the bridle at around the 4 poll for a few strides through greenness. The winner Colonize arguably got first run on her as she was green again before straightening up for the line. Far Rockaway saw out the trip well from there to finish a 1/2 length 2nd. It was a great 2nd run and her greenness showed there is still plenty to come from the filly. Darinza, Far Rockaways dam is being offered for sale in the December Mares sale at Tattersalls on Wednesday 4th of December lot no 1930. Darinza is in foal to the exciting Sea The Moon L.S.D 19/04/19 and is unfortunately for sale to help balance the books. so if you would like to buy a mare in foal to a sire on the up and imminent pedigree updates coming, please come and see us in the further paddock, stable 472. She will be available for viewing at Tattersalls from 01/12/19.
Confident Far Rockaway (Frankel x Darinza) can go close At Chelmsford Tomorrow Evening 24/11/19
Far Rockaway (Frankel x Darinza) is Declared For the Extra Places At totesport.com Novice Stakes 1m2f (Plus 10 Race) (Class 4) (2yo) 3.25pm at Chelmsford tomorrow afternoon and the vibes are good. Drawn in stall 7, we are looking for Far Rockaway to build on her promising debut when she stayed on well over 7f to finish 5th at the same venue. The filly will wear the hood again to keep her settled but the step up to 1m2f will certainly help and both William Haggas and I think she will appreciate the test. There were options to go over a mile, but we feel the trip will get the best out of her at this stage and she is sure to get further in time. The race is very competitive which you would expect at this time of year with so many trainers looking to get there later 2yo's out for experience and owner breeders like ourselves looking for a 2yo win for our pedigrees. We expect her to go very close! Tom Marquand kindly takes the ride again which is another plus being he rode the filly first timeout, besides being one of the rising stars of the weighing room.
Perfect Crown Wins Well At Chelmsford, A Nice Update For Absolute Blast
Perfect Crown Won very well at Chelmsford (Bet At totesport.com Novice Median Auction Stakes 4.25pm) over 7f yesterday evening. Owned by Sheikh Hamed Dalmook Al Maktoum and trained by Archie Watson the colt is a half brother to our very own Absolute Blast, providing a nice update to her page. The manner in which Perfect Crown won was taking. He was a little keen early from stall 12 but Hollie Doyle got him settled before sitting upside in front. The Result was never in doubt once the field straightened for home and Perfect Crown won by an impressive 8 lengths giving the impression there is more to come from the colt and more results to enhance Absolute Blast page, she has a lovely Showcasing Filly and is in foal to the mighty Frankel so there are exciting times a head. Everyone at AppleTree would also like to offer our congratulations to Hollie on a fantastic year reaching 100 winners, very well done
Gold Maze (Golden Horn x Astonishing) Entered In The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby 20/11/19
Gold Maze (Golden Horn x Astonishing) has been entered for next seasons Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby. Being Astonishing's second foal makes the entry very exciting for us here at AppleTree. We are aware that its a long way off but Jessica Harrington must hold the horse in some sort of regard. Gold Maze third in the Beresford was a fantastic update and being the type of horse that looks like he will improve at 3 do we dare to dream? I also feel that the farm is beginning to prove itself, The first 4 runners from AppleTree have been or appear to be useful. Besides Gold Maze, Three Weeks won 3 Races and is Rated 90, High of 93, Funny Man a Winner 3 times at 3yo and is rated 83, Far Rockaway last week showed ability with a staying on fifth at Chelmsford and looks a sure future winner. We are hoping that these results continue and enhance the reputation of AppleTree Stud and form a degree of trust in future sales.
