Hourless Wins On Handicap Debut 15/04/23

Hourless (Time Test x Poly Pomona) opened his account on Handicap Debut this afternoon by winning the At The Races App Market Movers Handicap at Lingfield over 1m1f, albeit of the lowly mark of 47. He was given a fine ride by Hollie Doyle, having to drop in and suffer a little from a wide draw. Before waiting for a gap in the home straight winning by 3/4 of a length from Maramara Star under a strong hands and heels drive from Hollie. We hope the handicapper is kind and we feel there should be more to come from Hourless.

Ardad Arrives 11pm 14/03/23

Sleepless (Shalaa x Midnight Thoughts) had a fine filly by Ardad this evening at 11pm, the delivery was very straight forward. Our filly foal is Sleepless second foal as she has a strong Dandyman yearling on the ground which I think AppleTree will run to get the mare on the way. Both Yearling and foal look good sorts so prspects long good for the young mum.

AppleTree welcomed our first new arrival of the season this evening at the civilized hour of 6.40pm, Lola Paige (Galileo x Timbuktu) delivered a pretty filly foal by Too Darn Hot. the filly weighed in at 56kg and is good and healthy. she is the second foal out of the mare, she has a Sea The Moon yearling colt on the ground already and Lola is visiting Too Darn Hot again this breeding season. fingers crossed for a bright future for mare and her off spring.

Tattersalls Foal Sale 2022

Tattersalls foal sale 2022 is upon us and AppleTree is delighted to have 2 quality offerings for Friday 25th of November, lots 865 and 866. First up is a fine colt by exciting first season sire Pinatubo out of AppleTree's Midnight Thoughts, he is a fine individual with potential and scope. Born in late March all he is going to do is improve. If you take a step back when viewing him, you can really see his frame and the horse he is going to be. He is a half to Listed and group place Tomorrow's Dream, his Kingman half-sister is in training with John and Thady Gosden and none of Midnight Thoughts offspring have had an RPR less than 90. I certainly recommend him as a future star. Next up lot 866 a Showcasing filly out of Her Terms, she is a real 2yo type and look precocious, she is all speed and the result of a cross that has had great success in the past (Showcasing x Pivotal damsire). Not only does she look an Ascot 2yo the page is developing all the time, Rainbow Sky out Best Terms won very well for Godolphin at Kempton last week. Be sure not to miss her as she is very fast.

Hit And A Miss At Tattersalls Book 2 12/10/22

After the explosive week at Book 1 Tattersalls October sales Book 2 seemed a little stickier. AppleTree offered 2 fillies, lot 1021 Dark Angel x Absolute Blast and lot 1276 Churchill x Fearns Pippin. First up was our Dark Angel filly, she was certainly popular with over 100 views during her time at park paddocks and a couple of vetting's but as she entered the ring it was clear that she had not made the final cut for many of the buyers lists. We bought her back for 95,000gns, the price wasn't quite enough for what I thought was a good-looking Racey filly. Dark Angel x Absolute Blast will go into training and run for AppleTree next season; she will be trained by Archie Watson. Next Up was 1276 Churchill x Fearns Pippin who was a bit of a surprise package, the filly had done nothing but improve in the run up to and during the sales. She moved well looked the part and vetted very well. Our Churchill filly seemed to gain more interest as the sale progressed, she behaved impeccably and was knocked down to Roger Varian for 120,000gns which was a fantastic result having been under bid by Charlie Hills and M.V Magnier. We were delighted with the result and also delighted that our filly will be trained by such a brilliant trainer, it's good for AppleTree and good for Fearns Pippin. Both fillies were an absolute credit to Jonny Sutton AppleTrees stud groom a great job well done.
