Surprise Exhibit (Showcasing x Astonishing) trained by Archie Watson ran a cracking race this afternoon at Salisbury to finish 3rd in the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Stonehenge Stakes on only his third start under the brilliant Hollie Doyle. Beaten 3 3/4 lengths by Cobh 97 rated colt trained by Clive Cox, Surprise Exhibit bounced out the gates to make the running before being collared close home. He’s sure to improve and looks on form to be capable of getting 10f which leave us lots of options. The result is also very special as it a second black type performer out of our mare Astonishing who is in foal to the exciting Too Darn Hot and also the dam of Group placed Gold Maze (Golden Horn x Astonishing), Astonishing is looking a valuable acquisition for AppleTree.
